Getting to know each Other
o Explain how the session will go today.
o Explain about coaching.
o Outline your background.
o Discuss confidentiality and security.
o “May I mention that your are a client?”
o Design the alliance: “How do you want to be coached?”
o Grant the coaching relationship power.
o Explain balance and score the Wheel of Life.
o Discuss values clarification and explain the Gremlin.
o Fill out the Primary Focus form.
o Review any other forms: Strategic Planning Checklist, Calendar, etc.
o Fill out on the Completion Log any actions to be taken.
o Set up the next three appointments in calendars.
o Discuss how the calls will go, explain about the inquiry, and discuss the “ups and downs” of the process.
o Fill out Coaching Agreement and Client Information forms, noting the impact of vacations, late or missed calls, and other arrangements.
o Receive money for the intake session and the first month. Explain about the monthly billing process (written invoice or phone invoice).
o Talk about the issue of commitment, about being human, and about learning and change taking time.
